Hi, I’m Amanda. I specialize in hope.

I say ‘specialize’ loosely, of course, but I claim it, in light of the great pains I have taken to foster hope throughout my own life, and the steps I take each day to keep it alive. Hope is something that is hard to find these days, and the truth is that there is no single solution to our human condition: each of us must find out where their own source of hope can be found. But we don’t have to be alone along the way; to need support is to be human.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate from the Central Texas area. I have worked primarily with teens and young adults in various settings, as well as with people of all ages in active addiction and those with a history of incarceration. I work with anyone experiencing such symptoms as anxiety, depression, low self-worth, loss of identity or purpose, disconnection in interpersonal relationships, or existential or spiritual angst. I want my clients to feel valuable, to know they are not alone, and to develop a sense of who they are and who they want to be.

I am also a human. I’m a language nerd, as you may have noticed. I love to listen to other people and broaden my own worldview. I love to learn from books as well, as long as I can find a way to apply them in real life. I feel most myself on a beach.

“Man is a mystery. It needs to be unravelled, and if you spend your whole life unravelling it, don't say that you've wasted time. I am studying that mystery because I want to be a human being.”
